Jeremy Lithgow MW is stepping into the role of judge at the 2023 Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA), underscoring his prominent position in the wine world.

Early Career

With a career spanning over twenty years, Jeremy began his journey in the competitive arena of London’s wine retail sector, where he took on management roles that allowed him to refine his expertise.

His thirst for knowledge and experience then led him to Australia, where for five years, he worked closely with European wine importers across Sydney and Melbourne.

Return to the UK and Achievements

After his time down under, Jeremy returned to the UK and assumed responsibility for the wine department at the renowned Harrods.

It was during this period that he embarked on the demanding path of Master of Wine studies, a commitment that culminated successfully in 2016.

He also spent several years gaining further insights at Charles Taylor Wines, enriching his understanding of the industry.

Current Role and DWWA Involvement

Today, Jeremy serves as the Head of Wine at Amathus Drinks, a respected importer and distributor renowned for offering a diverse array of wines and spirits from across the globe.

Jeremy’s association with the DWWA began in 2020 when he first took on the esteemed role of judge.

His expertise continues to shine through at this prestigious event, where his passion for wine and discerning palate contribute to the celebration of global winemaking excellence.
