Boutinot and Uco Valley Winery Launch Exciting New Argentinian Wine Collaboration

Boutinot, the renowned importer based in Greater Manchester, has entered into an exciting new partnership with the Uco Valley’s Bodega Urqo.

This venture, dubbed Azul y Blanco (AyB), is set to launch a unique collection of wines that embody the rich character of Argentinian viticulture.

Winemaking Initiative

At the forefront of this winemaking initiative are Guillaume Letang from Boutinot and Leo Pisano from Bodega Urqo.

They’ll be guided by the expertise of Daniel Pi, an esteemed Argentinian winemaker, as they craft innovative new wines under the Azul y Blanco label.

Robin Naylor, the commercial manager for the Azul y Blanco project, is enthusiastic about the potential of this collaboration.

He believes the brand will provide a fresh take on Argentinian wine, with the first releases anticipated to be showcased at major events such as Wine Paris and Prowein 2025.

Each bottle will feature eye-catching labels that reflect the essence of Bodega Urqo, aiming to modernize Malbec’s marketing appeal.

Production and Sourcing

The Azul y Blanco wines will be crafted from grapes sourced not only from the Uco Valley but also from various regions throughout Argentina.

It’ll be noteworthy that any wines produced purely with Uco Valley grapes will proudly display the label “Valle de Uco.”

While the heart of production for Azul y Blanco will be centered at Bodega Urqo, the collaboration promises to reach beyond Mendoza, incorporating talents from a variety of Argentinian winemakers.

Sustainability Commitment

Nick Butler, Boutinot’s head of product, emphasized the reciprocal advantages this partnership brings to both parties.

He pointed out that it ensures a steady and reliable supply of exceptional grapes and wines, particularly from the Uco Valley.

Moreover, Butler highlighted the thrilling opportunity to explore a diverse range of organic wines, aligning with their commitment to sustainability in future product offerings.

Bodega Urqo has demonstrated its dedication to sustainable winemaking.

The winery recently earned certification from the Bodegas de Argentina protocol, which showcases their commitment to environmentally friendly practices.

This includes responsible viticulture, efficient materials management in bottling, and effective strategies for water conservation.
