Bibendum Partners with Quinta da Pedra Alta for Exclusive UK and Ireland Wines

Bibendum is thrilled to announce an exclusive distribution agreement with Quinta da Pedra Alta, bringing a unique selection of wines to the UK and Ireland.

This partnership will feature a vibrant array of offerings, including both red and white table wines as well as a variety of Ports.

The products will be available for the on-trade under the Bibendum label and will also reach independent retail shops through Walker & Wodehouse.

Quinta da Pedra Alta’s Heritage

The Quinta da Pedra Alta estate holds a rich history dating back to at least 1761 and boasts the unique status of being the only vineyard in the Douro Valley to contain three historic “marcos pombalinos” — traditional stone markers.

Nestled in the mountainous Cima Corgo sub-region, near Alijó, this estate overlooks the picturesque Pinhão River.

Since Edward and Isabelle Woodward took over in 2018, their 35-hectare vineyard has aimed to unlock the full potential of its diverse terroir, which varies in elevation from 230m to 550m.

The vineyard is home to a range of grape varieties, including Rabigato, Touriga Nacional, Sousão, Gouveio, Viosinho, and Touriga Franca.

Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability is a core principle at Quinta da Pedra Alta, and the winery is proud to be among the first 15 in Portugal to receive the Sustainable Winegrowing Certification from the Instituto da Vinha e do Vinho (IVV).

Pires is at the forefront of a new generation of winemakers who are breathing fresh life into traditional methods.

Exciting Events Ahead

Wine enthusiasts can get a taste of Quinta da Pedra Alta’s offerings at several upcoming Bibendum events: Cork (28 January), Dublin (29 January), Edinburgh (4 February), and London (5 February).
