Vivat Bacchus Launches Partnership to Transform Youth Education in South Africa

Vivat Bacchus Partners with Africa College Foundation

Vivat Bacchus, a celebrated South African eatery nestled in London, has unveiled an exciting partnership with the Africa College Foundation, aiming to create educational opportunities for disadvantaged youth in South Africa.

Through this collaboration, Vivat Bacchus commits to sponsoring at least ten students as part of the Africa College Foundation’s innovative Education Town initiative in Johannesburg.

To support this worthy cause, the restaurant has set an ambitious fundraising target of £25,000, with hopes to achieve this by year’s end.

Charity Dinner and Auction

The initiative will kick off with a charity dinner and auction, planned to coincide with World Education Day on January 24 at Vivat Bacchus’ Farringdon venue.

Attendees can expect a delightful three-course South African Braai Feast, offering vegetarian and vegan choices, along with a wine tasting that showcases fine selections from South Africa.

The event will also feature an engaging charity auction and inspiring speeches from influential figures, including leadership coach Ed Jordan and Dr. Taddy Blecher, the visionary founder of the Africa College Foundation. Dr. Blecher aspires for the Education Town project to reach countless young individuals worldwide by 2030.

Additionally, Vivat Bacchus has devised a plan to support this initiative with a commitment to donate £1 from every bill settled at its restaurants, amplifying their contribution to the cause.

About the Africa College Foundation

Founded in 2022, the Africa College Foundation is dedicated to empowering youth in South Africa through education in partnership with the Maharishi Invincibility Institute (MII).

The foundation’s mission is centered on delivering meaningful educational experiences to those from marginalized backgrounds—be they refugees, orphans, or survivors of violence—who still grapple with socioeconomic challenges following the end of apartheid.

James Dawson, CEO of Vivat Bacchus, expressed his excitement about this meaningful partnership, highlighting how deeply rooted the restaurant is in South African culture.

He emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating that it represents an opportunity to make a significant impact in the community.

The decision to add a £1 donation to each bill marks a pivotal step in their ongoing commitment to empowering young South Africans.

Dawson has also reached out to other industry professionals, including trade partners and sponsors, urging them to participate in the charity event.

He underscored the hospitality industry’s potential to enact positive change by providing essential education and opportunities to those who need them the most.
