Buckingham Schenk’s New Era
Buckingham Schenk is entering a new era as Helena Martin steps in as the new Managing Director, following Craig Durham’s 21-year tenure with the company, ten of which he spent at the helm.
Durham will officially depart from his role on February 3, 2025.
Helena Martin’s Experience
Martin brings a wealth of experience to the position, having dedicated over 16 years to the wine industry in various sales leadership roles.
Her most recent experience as UK Sales Director at Freixenet Copestick saw her successfully develop a dynamic sales team of 34 professionals while forging critical relationships with clients that propelled the company’s impressive performance during her seven years there.
Prior to her successful stint at Freixenet, Martin honed her skills at Treasury Wines Estates over nine years, where she rose to the rank of Senior Business Manager.
Interestingly, her journey began in the finance sector, where she gained valuable experience working with major global brands, such as L’Oreal.
Gratitude and Future Outlook
Thierry Gaillard, CEO of the Schenk Family, expressed his enthusiasm for Martin’s appointment, emphasizing the strategic significance of the UK market for Buckingham Schenk.
He recognized her extensive background in sales and her deep understanding of the industry as key assets for her new role.
Gaillard also took the opportunity to extend his gratitude to Craig Durham for his unwavering commitment over the years and wished him success in his future endeavors.
