Carla Bruni’s Foray into Winemaking
Celebrity ventures into the winemaking world are becoming increasingly popular, and Carla Bruni is the latest to join this trend.
The former First Lady of France, who has made a name for herself as a singer and model, is excited to introduce a zero-alcohol wine under her Château d’Estoublon label.
This reveal comes just in time for the annual Côte Rôtie wine tasting event, the Marché aux Vins, held in Ampuis, northern Rhône, which runs from Friday through today.
The Sparkling Creation: L’Excessive
Bruni, alongside her husband, former French Prime Minister Nicolas Sarkozy, has embraced the art of winemaking at their Provence estate.
After launching the Roseblood rosé, she has now announced a sparkling rosé that breaks the mold—it’s completely alcohol-free.
The wine, aptly named L’Excessive, pays tribute to her song from 2002 that shares the same title, featured in her celebrated album, Quelqu’un m’a dit.
Bruni whimsically connects the song’s protagonist, who is known for a lack of moderation, to her own playful tendencies.
Embracing Joy without Alcohol
In her reflections on life, Bruni touches on her inclinations toward excess, whether in sports, food, or lively conversations.
Still, she acknowledges there are times when she practices restraint.
The creation of her new alcohol-free wine will follow the same meticulous process as her previous Roseblood, with guidance from Jean-Guillaume Prats, a seasoned consultant with a background at prestigious estates like Cos d’Estournel and Château Lafite Rothschild.
This new sparkling label heralds a refreshing take on celebrations, blending the delight of fine bubbles with an ethos of boundless festivity, encouraging enjoyment without limits.
