Support for Winemaking Professionals Affected by Conflict: 2025 Scholarships Open

The Gérard Basset Foundation is excited to announce the opening of applications for the Artémis Domaines Golden Vines Victims of Conflict scholarships.

These scholarships, made possible through the generous backing of Artémis Domaines, are designed to help winemaking professionals who have been impacted by war and political turmoil.

By offering essential support, the initiative seeks to create opportunities for career growth within the wine industry.

Scholarship Details

This year, the program will award three scholarships.

Each recipient will benefit from a six-month paid internship at a vineyard owned by Artémis Domaines, where they will develop crucial skills in viticulture and viniculture.

Among the previous scholarship recipients are talented individuals from regions such as Ukraine and Armenia, including Georgiy Molchanov, who took advantage of the program in 2023 while completing a five-month internship at the renowned Beau Frères winery in Oregon.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this opportunity, applicants should be currently involved in the wine sector and possess the French BTS qualification in viticulture or oenology.

Candidates must also have hands-on experience in a vineyard or winery and demonstrate a conversational proficiency in English, along with a basic understanding of French.

The scholarship is open to applicants worldwide, as long as they hold the necessary residence or work permits.

Application Process

Co-founder Romané Basset hopes these scholarships will propel recipients in their careers, even amidst difficult circumstances.

He underscores the importance of providing educational resources and career development options to those affected by conflict, emphasizing that everyone deserves a fair chance to succeed professionally.

A selection panel, chaired by Ian Harris MBE, will determine the scholarship recipients.

Ian leads the trustees at the Gérard Basset Foundation, and Jérémy Cukierman MW, who serves as the Communications & Sustainability Director at Artémis Domaines, will join him on the committee.
